Here is a rough sketch of a philosopher name Kentaro.
Kentaro considers himself closest to an Atheist, even though in his heart he wanted to believe in some God/s existence. For the world that he had came to grow up in was cruel, he felt. Kentaro prays daily deep in his heart for a very brief period. Yet for all other matters he says to himself, "God help those who help themselves." Therefore if one were to succeed one only need some hope, and the rest of the work had to be done by humanity.
